DIY Digital Frame from old Powerbook

I took an old powerbook with a broken hinge and made a digital picture frame out of it. I disconnected the other hinge, and mounted the screen on what had been the bottom of the laptop with velcro tape. I had a thick frame custom made to size, and put the whole laptop into the frame with some metal straps. it's great to have a digital frame, especially one with a big screen driven by a real wireless computer that can show stills, a ken burns slideshow, or video.

I can get to all the ports, the power plug, and the CD drive. I covered the hinges and exposed wiring with a bit of duct tape, to make sure it looked classy and to protect the exposed wires from catching on something.

A bit of the screen bezel is visible, ideally you'd see nothing but screen from the front, but it's not bad, not bad at all.
