2007-02-08 Redondo Canyon at Night Squid Eggs

Went on a night dive in the Redondo Beach submarine canyon with Jim Lyle (jlyle) and Margaret Webb. We cheated, and rather than beach diving, dove from the Webb's boat, the Popeye Maru. A cough kept Scott on the boat, serving as skipper and deckhand.

We dove just after a major squid run and found huge carpets of squid egg masses. We saw no live squid or even many dead adult squid, and not much was out feeding, probably full from the run itself.

Water was cold, low 50's, and vis was quite good, 30 feet or so.
